Martin J. Golden

October 13, 2015

On Oct. 13, 1775, the U.S. Navy was born with authorization from the Continental Congress. From a humble beginning of just two armed sailing vessels, the Navy grew with the creation of the Department of the Navy in 1798 and has since become the most powerful in the world. Today, we thank the Navy for their 240 years of dedicated service to our country.
