Senator Michael Venditto (R-8th Senate District) recently honored Billy Nolan of Bellmore and Michael Walsh of Selden for attaining the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout. Senator Venditto attended the Court of Honor at the Merrick Golf Course Clubhouse to personally congratulate Billy and Michael, members of Boy Scout Troop 123 of North Merrick, on earning scouting’s highest honor.

Billy’s Eagle Scout project consisted of building a fishing kiosk at the Norman J. Levy Preserve. The kiosk provides a central location for the park rangers to post information on fishing and park events.

Michael’s Eagle Scout project involved renovating a classroom at St. Raphael’s Church in East Meadow. The classroom is used by the Genesis II School for children with autism.

“Billy and Michael have spent years serving their communities and working hard to achieve something only a select few ever do; the rank of Eagle Scout. We congratulate them on earning this very prestigious honor,” said Senator Venditto.
