Statement from Senator Venditto Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

“Monday, we celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day where we commemorate the great sacrifices made by Dr. King and other leaders of the civil rights movement in their efforts to ensure that each one of us can enjoy the rights and liberties we all deserve as Americans.”

In honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, I share the following quote from Dr. King's Lincoln Memorial Address on August 28, 1963: “Let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred. We must forever conduct our struggle on the high plane of dignity and discipline.”
