"One of my first legislative acts as your new State Senator this year was to vote on a comprehensive Women’s Equality Agenda to enhance the rights of women and protect New Yorkers who are most vulnerable to abuse and discrimination. This package of bills included a bill that toughens penalties on human trafficking and I called on the Assembly to do the same. Today, the Assembly decided to act on this bill. I hope the Assembly will also join us in taking up and passing the rest of this legislation to protect our mothers, sisters, daughters, and all women in New York State."
