Senator Gallivan & Assemblymember Bronson Dedicate Henrietta Veterans Memorial Highway

Senator Patrick M. Gallivan (R-C-I, Elma) and Assemblymember Harry Bronson (D, Henrietta) joined local officials and area veterans Wednesday in dedicating a portion of state route 15-A as the “Henrietta Veterans Memorial Highway.”  The ceremony was held at the Ely Fagan American Legion Post 1151 as part of Veteran’s Day ceremonies.

“Today we pay tribute to the brave men and women of Henrietta and Monroe County who have served our country with pride and distinction,” Gallivan said.  “This highway designation is a small token of our appreciation for our veterans and will serve as a reminder to current and future generations of the dedication and sacrifice made by our military personnel.” 

“On this Veterans Day, I am proud to join so many of our local veterans and their families as we pay tribute to your service and sacrifice,” said Assemblymember Harry Bronson.  “The dedication and memorialization of this highway will let us remember the service of our veterans, and on a daily basis remind us to renew our promise to fulfill our sacred obligations to our veterans and their families who have sacrificed so much.”

Senator Gallivan sponsored legislation in the Senate to designate a 5.7 mile stretch of route 15-A that runs from the Brighton/Henrietta town line to the Henrietta/Rush town line.  Assemblymember Bronson sponsored the bill in the Assembly and Governor Cuomo signed the measure into law.   

The Department of Transportation will install special highway signs along route 15-A that read “Henrietta Veterans Memorial Highway.”
