Senator Patrick M. Gallivan (R-C-I, Elma) is bringing together business experts and community agencies to help entrepreneurs and others in launching their own small business. The Small Business Start-Up event is being held Wednesday, September 16 at the West Seneca Senior Center from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The event is free to attend.
“There is nothing more rewarding then owning your own business, but starting and building a successful business in today’s economy can be challenging,” Gallivan said. “This event brings business experts together in one place to help navigate the process and to answer any questions that entrepreneurs may have.”
The event includes representatives of Empire State Development, the Small Business Administration, the Better Business Bureau, the Erie County Clerk’s Office, local Chambers of Commerce and other organizations.
“Our small business community is an engine of growth for New York State,” said Empire State Development President, CEO & Commissioner Howard Zemsky. “We are working hard to ensure that our entrepreneurs have all of the necessary resources to thrive and succeed, and the summit is a great example of the opportunities available for business owners to gain valuable insight.”
Speakers include Senator Gallivan, Erie County Clerk Chris Jacobs and Frank Swiatek, who serves as Senator Gallivan’s Senior Advisor for Small Business. Swiatek is a private sector consultant and has worked with numerous small businesses and over 25 Fortune 500 companies.
Senator Gallivan serves on the Senate’s Commerce, Economic Development and Small Business Committee, which is responsible for overseeing and developing legislation and policy relating to state regulations, mandates, tax credit programs, and growth incentives for all business sectors in the state.
You can register to attend the event by contacting Mitch Martin, Community Representative for Senator Gallivan. Email mitch@senatorgallivan.com or call (716) 656-8544.
