Senator Patrick M. Gallivan (R-C-I, Elma) received the highest rating among New York State Senators in the Conservative Party’s review of the 2015 Legislative session.  Gallivan earned a score of 76% based on his voting record for 25 key bills acted upon by the Senate.

“I am honored to be recognized by the leadership of the Conservative Party for my votes on issues important to New York residents,” Gallivan said.  “When it comes to crime prevention, education, cutting red tape, and reducing the size of cost of government, I will continue to fight on behalf of the hard working taxpayers of our state.”

Gallivan received high marks for his support of legislation to crackdown on human trafficking and to increase the penalty on those involved in the sale of heroin and other opiates.  The Conservative Party also acknowledged his vote in favor of legislation to require any state mandated program imposed on municipalities and school districts to be funded by the state, and his support of reforms aimed at ensuring students are afforded a high quality education.  While Gallivan continues to support the full repeal of the NY SAFE Act, Conservative Party leadership also noted his backing of legislation to amend the law through a series of reforms.

This year the overall New York State Senate rating is 62%.  Among conservative endorsed Senators, the average score was 72.75%.  The Assembly received an overall rating of 37%.
