State Senator Patty Ritchie is now accepting nominations for the New York State Senate’s “Women of Distinction” program; a special initiative aimed at honoring women’s history in the Empire State by recognizing the accomplishments of outstanding leaders from the present.
“From doctors and teachers to people who volunteer countless hours in the name of bettering their community, over the past several years I’ve had the honor of recognizing dozens of women from across our region who are going above and beyond to make a difference,” said Senator Ritchie. “This year, I’m truly looking forward to honoring a new group of local women through this special program.”
Women living in the 48th Senate District, including Oswego, Jefferson and St. Lawrence Counties are eligible for nomination. Family, friends or coworkers are invited to make nominations by downloading a nomination form here or by calling (315) 782-3418. The deadline for nominations is March 27th. All nominees will be invited to a local recognition ceremony to be held on April 30th.
Last year, Senator Ritchie nominated 26 individuals through the “Women of Distinction” program. To learn more about last year’s honorees, click here.
