STATEMENT FROM SENATOR PATTY RITCHIE

Today’s conviction of yet another elected official is not only deeply troubling, it’s extremely disappointing.

Voters put their trust in those they elect to do not only what’s best for them, but also what is right.  When someone in office doesn’t hold themselves to the high ethical standard expected of them, they violate the public trust. 

Simply put, voters deserve better than this.  Moving forward, I will continue to work with my colleagues to increase accountability and transparency in an effort to help restore public confidence and trust in our government.
