Senator participates in 4th Annual Legislative Food Drive Challenge to support pets in need
February 20, 2015 – Bay Shore, NY: New York State Senator Phil Boyle today announced he will host a Pet Food Drive in conjunction with Long Island Cares Fourth Annual Legislative Food Drive Challenge and Live Love Bark. This year’s food drive will have a special focus on helping local animals in need. Senator Boyle’s office will be accepting donations of pet food and supplies from February 23rd through March 13th.
“For many of us, pets are a treasured part of our family. This is especially true for the elderly and homebound,” said Boyle. “During these tough economic times, many people need a little extra help to care for their beloved pets. That’s why I’m asking residents to show their support by taking part in our pet food drive. “
From now until March 13th , Senator Boyle’s Office will be collecting pet supplies for dogs, cats, hamsters, fish and ferrets. Items being accepted include but are not limited to bags of food, canned food, pet treats, kitty litter and new pet toys. Donations can be dropped off at the Senator’s District Office at 69 West Main Street – Suite B, Bay Shore between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Senator Boyle concluded that, “While they can’t say thank you; I’m sure our beloved friends will greatly appreciate our community’s kindness and generosity. Please consider making a donation today.”
