Statement from New York State Senator Rich Funke

"Rochester has waited a long time for its day in the sun. Today our future is all the brighter".

I thank all of the public and private stakeholders who worked together to secure our hard-earned place at the top of the URI competition. Throughout our history, it's been the innovation and collaboration of our people that put Rochester on the map. Now, as we transition to a new economy fueled by new jobs, they will continue to lead the way.

Rochester deserves its fair share. This is a good start. Now it's time to ensure these dollars do what we need them to do most, and that's create jobs and opportunity right here in our community.
