Senator Rubén Díaz and Hispanic Clergy to hold Fifth Prayer Rally for Rape Victim
New York State Senator Rev. Rubén Díaz (D-Bronx) and the New York Hispanic Clergy Organization, will hold a Rally for Justice on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at 9:00AM outside the Bronx Criminal Court located at 265 East 161st Street in the Bronx. This Prayer Rally is scheduled to coincide with Wednesday’s Criminal Court appearance of Mr. Nanic Aidasani, who has been charged with second-degree rape against a 64-year old resident at the Manhattanville Rehabilitation & HealthCare Center in Riverdale one year ago. Mr. Aidasani worked at that facility as a licensed practical nurse.
Senator Díaz, the Ranking Member on the New York State Senate Committee on Aging, stated: “Finally, after one year, we are hopeful that justice will be served. There is a rumor that on Wednesday, Mr. Aidasani will plead guilty. If this becomes true, Ms. Loida Rivera’s mother and family will no longer have to agonize over the outcome of the Criminal Court decision. My ministers and I will continue to offer our prayers and support for all victims of abuse – especially for those who are unable to protect themselves and speak for themselves.”
