Tuesday's Blood Drive

You should know that I will be sponsoring a Blood Drive through the American Red Cross on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 from 12 noon until 5PM at my District Office located at 900 Rogers Place. A Red Cross Mobile Unit will be set up right outside of my office to welcome donors.

We already know that especially during the summer months, blood supplies in hospitals are lower than other times of the year.  We also know that each donation can be crucial for patients undergoing surgery or patients who need transfusions.  These include babies who struggle to live in NICUs, children and adults who are undergoing surgery, car accident victims, and sickle cell friends in crisis.

Ladies and gentlemen, I am hopeful that this effort will have a ripple effect throughout the city so my colleagues in government will also reach out to the American Red Cross to sponsor blood drives because it makes a real difference.
