State Senator Tom Croci (R-Sayville) took the Oath of Office as the new state Senator from New York’s 3rd Senate District in the Senate Chamber of the New York State Capitol in Albany on January 2, 2015.
“Long Islanders sent me here to work hard for them,” said Senator Croci in brief remarks after the ceremony. “I want to sincerely thank each one of you who placed your trust in me, and that’s a responsibility I take very seriously.”
Senator Croci, a Navy Commander and combat veteran who served in Afghanistan, invoked the memory of his parents, and also his comrades in arms who were killed in action during the conflict. “I remember every one of their names and faces, I remember the principles and values they fought to defend, and I will always honor those values wherever I serve.”
Senator Croci was joined by approximately 100 family members, friends, and supporters who made the trip from Long Island to Albany for the event. He was sworn in by District Court Judge and long-time friend Pierce Cohalan.
