Senator O'Mara statement on the retirement of Tom Weidemann, Executive Director of Elmira's Clemens Center

Elmira, N.Y., January 28—State Senator Tom O’Mara (R,C-Big Flats) issued the following statement today on the announcement that Thomas Weidemann, Executive Director of the Clemens Center in Elmira, will be retiring at the end of 2015:
"Tom Weidemann has enjoyed a remarkable and a remarkably productive and successful tenure leading the Clemens Center. He has built the Clemens Center into one of the region’s premier attractions and a place of enjoyment, excitement and inspiration for all generations. It has been my great pleasure to work closely with Tom on many projects and common goals, and I have always valued his sense of commitment, expertise and resourcefulness. I’m confident that the foundations of leadership and the vision for the future that Tom has advanced for over three decades will carry on and continue to help guide the innovation and success of the Clemens Center well into the 21st Century.”
The announcement that Weidemann will retire on December 31, 2015 was made yesterday afternoon during the center’s annual meeting.
Weidemann has led the Clemens Center since 1983.
