California Passes Legislation to Give Farmworkers Over-time Pay
September 2, 2016
"California’s passage of legislation to give farmworkers over-time pay after 40 hours is a win in the national fight for farmworkers rights, and should set a national example. Unfortunately, New York's 100,000 farmworkers still do not receive overtime pay, have the right to organize, have access to worker’s compensation or a guaranteed day-off. I have long fought for legislation to bring equal rights to farmworkers in our state, and I will continue to fight for farmworkers rights, no matter what office I hold."
