JAMESTOWN –The Resource Center recently honored Senator Catharine Young (R,C,I- 57th District) as a “Champion of TRC” during a special visit.
Mark Morton, Assistant Executive Director for The Resource Center, said, “We are extremely fortunate to have an advocate in Senator Cathy Young, who is always willing to help with issues that are important to the individuals we support. Most recently, Senator Young helped The Resource Center to overcome some obstacles at a state-wide level, and her involvement allowed funding to come through for the replacement of HVAC units at our residences on Foote Avenue in Jamestown. We are very appreciative of Senator Young’s effort on behalf of the individuals living in those homes.”
Senator Young said, “Working on behalf of those with developmental disabilities is truly a passion for me, because it’s what I did for 15 years before serving in elected office. These people are my friends and I know they want the same things we all do, to have the best quality of life and to get the most out of each day. Caring for members of our disabled community is a necessity, and I am pleased that a positive outcome could be achieved so that they can continue to live comfortably and receive the best support possible.”
The Resource Center, located in Jamestown, is a comprehensive support agency that has served the Chautauqua County area since 1959, and provides services to thousands of persons with all types and levels of care. The facility located on Foote Avenue, where the new HVAC systems were installed, has been in operation since 1982.
