April 6, 2016

Senator George Amedore today invited residents throughout the 46th Senate District to submit nominations for the New York State Senate’s Veterans’ Hall of Fame, an annual ceremony that honors and recognizes outstanding veterans from throughout the state who have distinguished themselves in their service, as well as their civilian life.

“The brave men and women who make the sacrifice to wear our nation’s uniform and serve our country deserve our respect and gratitude,” said Senator Amedore. “This yearly ceremony honors exemplary veterans from across the state that have protected our freedoms and made our state and nation the place it is today. This honor is one way to express our appreciation to them for their service.”

This year’s inductees will be honored at an induction ceremony at the State Capitol on Tuesday, May 24th at 11 am.

Nominations can be made by veterans’ posts, community officials, or friends and family of distinguished veterans. Nomination forms are available on the Senator’s website, www.amedore.nysenate.gov. Nominations should include a short bio highlighting the nominee’s military and community service.

Nominations, along with a high resolution photo, must be submitted online, emailed or received by the Senator’s office (Room 802, Legislative Office Building, Albany, NY 12247) by Monday, April 25th.
