STATEMENT FROM SENATOR AMEDORE: On HFM Prevention Council Funding for Community-Based Clubhouse
January 28, 2016
A critical piece of addressing the heroin epidemic is providing strong support services for those who have struggled with addiction and are on the road to recovery to prevent relapses. The HFM Prevention Council is already doing great work in our community, working to educate and spread awareness on the dangers of substance abuse and encouraging good choices to help our young people from falling into the trap of addiction. This funding will allow them to expand on their efforts with a new community-based clubhouse that will serve as an important resource for the City of Amsterdam, and the entire Mohawk Valley, to help keep our young people on the road to recovery.
