Senator Jack M. Martins (R-7th Senate District) announced that the Village of Baxter Estates will be receiving $75,000 in state funding for an infrastructure improvement project. Senator Martins secured the state funding for the Village.
The Village will use the funds to make renovations to Village Hall that will enhance its ability to provide services and make the building more accessible and comfortable for local residents. Renovations will include:
- Replacing its existing emergency generator with a new, modern unit so that Village can continue operating and serving residents during a storm, power outage, or emergency situation;
- Installing new air conditioning; and
- Creating a new restroom to accommodate individuals with disabilities.
According to the Village, work on the project is expected to begin in mid-2016 and be completed in the fall.
“Baxter Estates Village Hall is the central hub for its operations and an important public resource utilized by the community. Modernizing it through these improvements will help the Village better serve the residents of Baxter Estates,” said Senator Martins.
“We are so grateful to Senator Martins for securing these state funds. This generous grant allows us to update Village Hall to better serve our residents, especially during emergencies,” said Village of Baxter Estates Mayor Nora Haagenson.
