Senator Jack M. Martins (R-7th Senate District) recently congratulated Schreiber High School seniors Madeline Fagen and Emma Feldman on being chosen as national semi-finalists in the 2016 Intel Science Talent Search.
“After devoting untold hours researching, studying and developing their projects in close collaboration with their teachers, Madeline and Emma excelled in the Intel competition and were recognized as two of the country’s best and brightest young scientists. It’s a really special achievement which I’m sure will be the first of many more to come for these two young women. Congratulations to both of them on this well deserved honor,” said Senator Martins.
Participants from all across the country, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands compete in the talent search, considered the nation’s most prestigious pre-college science competition. Madeline and Emma are two of only 300 semifinalists chosen from entries nationwide.
Senator Martins presented Madeline and Emma with legislative resolutions he sponsored, which were passed by the Senate, in recognition of their accomplishment. With passage of the resolutions, Madeline and Emma’s names and achievement will forever be part of the New York State Senate’s official record.
