Senator Jack M. Martins (R-7th Senate District) recently congratulated Roslyn High School senior Nathan Yang on being chosen as a national semi-finalist in the 2016 Intel Science Talent Search.

“Nathan has achieved something really special.  In close collaboration with his teachers, Nathan devoted countless hours to researching, developing, and preparing his project.  Earning national recognition as one of the country’s top young science students for his efforts is a wonderful and well-deserved reward.  Congratulations to Nathan on this incredible accomplishment,” said Senator Martins.

Participants from all across the country, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands compete in the talent search, considered the nation’s most prestigious pre-college science competition. Nathan is one of only 300 semifinalists chosen from entries nationwide.

Senator Martins presented Nathan with a legislative resolution he sponsored, which was passed by the Senate, in recognition of his achievement. With passage of the resolution, Nathan’s name and achievement will forever be part of the New York State Senate’s official record.
