Senator Martins Informs Residents How to Apply for Upcoming Correction Officer Exam

Senator Jack M. Martins (R-7th Senate District) is informing residents that the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision has announced an exam to hire new Correction Officers.
The exam, which will be conducted under the auspices of the New York State Department of Civil Service, will be held on April 9th. The filing deadline to apply for the exam is February 24th.
Correction Officers serve throughout New York State in various facilities of the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision. They are responsible for the custody and security of criminal offenders in State Correctional Facilities. Correction Officers also play a key role in the rehabilitative process for inmates. Residents interested in taking the exam can apply online or download examination and applications at the New York State Department of Civil Service website at www.cs.ny.gov/exams. Applications must be filed online or postmarked by February 24th.
