Senator Martins Joins Port Washington Fire Department in Recognizing Longtime Members for Their Service

Senator Jack M. Martins (R-7th Senate District) recently joined with Port Washington Fire Department’s Atlantic Hook & Ladder Company #1 in honoring two long-time members for their many years of community service.

Senator Martins sponsored legislative resolutions, which were passed by the New York State Senate, honoring Ex-Captain & Trustee Charles Cella (50 years of service) and Captain & Ex-President Patrick Saccoccia (25 years of service) for their devoted service.  With passage of the legislative resolutions, their contributions to the community will forever be part of the New York State Senate’s official record.

“It takes a special person to be willing to make the sacrifices needed to be a volunteer firefighter, which is why every one of them deserves our respect and gratitude.  It takes an extraordinary person to devote decades of their life to that worthy cause.  Thank you to Charles Cella and Patrick Saccoccia for their many years of brave and selfless service to the residents of Port Washington,” said Senator Martins.
