Senator Jack M. Martins (R-7th Senate District) recently supported students from Schreiber High School and Weber Middle School in their efforts to raise awareness and funds to help those affected by mental illness.
Team Port Voices, comprised of approximately 70 students under the guidance of teacher Linda Manzo, took part in the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) annual Long Island/Queens NAMIWalk at Jones Beach State Park. The students raised $9,000 to support NAMI’s programs and services which aid individuals affected by mental illness.
