In October Senator Serrano, Councilmember Ben Kallos, Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney, Assemblywoman Rebecca Seawright and Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer hosted the first IDNYC pop-up enrollment site on Roosevelt Island. The IDNYC program provides New Yorkers with access to countless essential services and benefits that they are entitled to as residents of New York City. Regardless of immigration status, members of the community can properly identify themselves through this program, which provides New York City identification cards.
"Roosevelt Islanders finally have access to an enrollment site close to home! As an advocate for the rights of our immigrant communities, I am very proud of the success that IDNYC has had on this island. Residents who may otherwise experience difficulty obtaining a government-issued ID, were able to make an appointment and sign up for their very own identification card."
