August 5, 2016
Senator Serrano joined his Bronx colleagues in the city and state legislatures in announcing a new partnership between New York State, Major League Baseball, the Major League Baseball Players Association and Harlem RBI. This important partnership will create a youth baseball and softball academy at Roberto Clemente State Park in the Bronx that will immediately serve at least 1,500 youth, tripling the number currently participating in the park's baseball programs.
"I had the pleasure of being at Roberto Clemente State in the Bronx for the announcement of a new youth academy for baseball and softball. Thanks to a collaboration between the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, Harlem RBI, MLB, Major League Baseball Players Association and Yankee baseball player Alex Rodriguez, local youth will have the opportunity to participate in baseball programs that are enriching in so many ways."
