Senator Serrano Participates In Historic Meeting Between Puerto Rican Elected Officials

Senator Serrano attended a historic gathering of Puerto Rican elected officials from all over the United States. This meeting was the first of its kind in the history of the Puerto Rican Diaspora. The collection of elected officials discussed the fiscal crisis in Puerto Rico, voter registration and education campaigns, as well as working towards a unified voice in the upcoming presidential, state and local elections.
"I was proud to be part of a historic meeting of Puerto Rican elected officials from throughout the country, organized by Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito and Assemblyman Marcos Crespo. This meeting gave us the opportunity to come together to discuss the economic crisis and other critical issues facing the Puerto Rican community, while developing a comprehensive plan of action."
