Senator Serrano Provides Environmental Conservation Programs To The 29th Senate District
May 5, 2016
Last month, Senator Serrano's off-site constituent hours focused on creating awareness about the ways in which our communities can contribute to a more sustainable city and planet. Our office teamed up with GrowNYC and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation in bringing free environmental conservation programs to the communities of the 29th Senate District.
GrowNYC taught the basics of recycling, while distributing free resources and educational tools. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation shared important information about their services including community programs, and after-school lessons and gave children and families the opportunity to explore and learn more about the mammals that live with us in NYC with an interactive presentation.
