Addabbo to Hold Annual Job Fair
September 14, 2016
Howard Beach, NY (September 14, 2016) Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. will once again host his annual Fall Job Fair next month, set to feature more than 100 employers with approximately 1,000 potential positions to offer.
Employers from fields such as healthcare, retail, government, education and many others will gather at Resorts World Casino on Friday, October 7, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., to take part in Addabbo’s yearly job fair. The event will host private companies, non-profit organizations and city, state and federal agencies, who will all have representatives on hand to accept resumés and answer questions from job seekers in attendance.
Addabbo’s job fairs in the past have attracted thousands of city residents looking for employment, and the fall event offers a perfectly timed opportunity for employers – especially retailers – to hire additional staff members just as the holiday shopping season approaches.
“Searching for a job can be a very overwhelming experience, and many people don’t even know where to start or who to contact,” said Addabbo. “That’s where this job fair comes in, bringing together businesses and individuals seeking employment all in one place. Nobody should have to struggle to find work, and I am happy to be able to host events such as this one in order to help people find jobs.”
Addabbo frequently holds jobs fairs and hiring events throughout the year to help connect people with job openings in their area, having already hosted a Senior Job Fair and another hiring event both in May.
The job fair is free to attend for both employers and for those looking for a job. Job seekers planning to attend should use the free outdoor parking lot across from the main entrance, enter through the main casino doors and take the escalator to the third floor.
