Addabbo Meets with Local Community Development Group
August 8, 2016
Howard Beach, NY (August 8, 2016) Last week, Senator Addabbo sat down with members of the Outreach organization to discuss the work they do in the community and how its mission can be spread to benefit more residents across New York.
The Senator recently met with Neil Sheehan, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Outreach, to learn more about the organization and its work to improve the community. The agency, which has three Queens locations across Ridgewood and Richmond Hill, works to provide drug and alcohol treatment to adolescents and adults throughout New York City and Long Island as well as providing behavior health services, counseling and training to assist with vocational and professional opportunities for individuals starting a new chapter in their lives.
“The staff and Board of Directors at Outreach do great work to help improve the quality of life for many people each year, therefore contributing to the overall well being of the communities encompassing their facilities,” said Addabbo. “For someone in need of help, one of the hardest things to do is to take the first positive step to seek it, and this organization encourages people to do just that by showing that there are plenty of resources available to someone going through a traumatic stage in their life. During my meeting with Neil Sheehan and other members of the Outreach organization, I saw first-hand how beneficial an agency like this is to our community and we are fortunate to have their facilities and services located right in our own neighborhood. I am grateful to have met with the dedicated staff and the Board of Directors to learn more about what this organization does and how it helps others.”
The Senator is encouraging anyone who may benefit from services provided by Outreach to contact the organization. A full list of programs and services can be found on the organization’s website at www.opiny.org.
