SENATOR KEVIN PARKER BRINGS OVER 450 SOLAR ENERGY EXPERTS TOGETHER FOR INTERSOLAR SUMMIT USA EAST
March 25, 2016
BROOKLYN, NY (3/25) -Yesterday, State Senator Kevin Parker held Intersolar Summit USA East 2016 at the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge. For the second year in Brooklyn, over 450 solar energy experts from across the nation gathered to discuss clean and renewable energy solutions to meet consumer energy needs. Senator Parker, the Ranking Democratic Member on the Senate Committee on Energy and Telecommunications, delivered the keynote address to kickoff the daylong event.
“In partnership with organizations like NYSERDA, Con Edison of New York, Sustainable CUNY, and the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, I am proud to have brought Intersolar USA East to Brooklyn for the second straight year. As we see a significant increase in consumer energy costs, it is imperative to discuss and find sustainable energy solutions and cost saving measures that will benefit all New Yorkers,” said State Senator Kevin Parker.
This year’s summit focused on energy storage capacity and funding available for solar projects in New York State. In light of Governor Cuomo’s Reforming the Energy Vision (REV) goal to have renewable energy sources constitute 50% of New York’s energy consumption by 2030, Intersolar Summit USA East remains a timely and essential conference that will ensure New York stays on course to meet its energy objectives.
Other speakers and partners at Intersolar USA East included Richard Kauffman, Chairman of Energy & Finance for New York State, Mukesh Dulani, President of SolarWorld Americas Inc., Dr. Alex Levran, Senior Vice President & the Head of Global Solar Industry Initiative, ABB, and many others all came together to provide insight on the future of the solar industry.
