Statement From Senator Krueger On Appointments By President-Elect Donald J. Trump
November 22, 2016
New York – State Senator Liz Krueger released the following statement today in response to the appointment of extremists and white supremacists to fill positions in the incoming administration of President-Elect Donald J. Trump, including former head of Breitbart News Steve Bannon:
"I wholeheartedly condemn Donald Trump's appointments of Steve Bannon, Michael Flynn, and Jeff Sessions to positions in his new administration. Trump may revel in his so-called "post-truth" election, and he has not shied away from using double-talk and misinformation, but here's a dose of reality: these men have proudly espoused views that are racist, misogynistic, xenophobic, anti-semitic, Islamophobic, and just flat-out ignorant. They are not the best and brightest this country has to offer. In fact, they represent the very worst elements of our society, which have fought tooth and nail against every step we have taken on the path to a more perfect union. They are not just un-American, they are anti-American, and all people of goodwill should be outraged that they will have access to the most powerful office in the world."
