SENATOR GOLDEN TO BE JOINED BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF ALBANIA AT MOTHER THERESA STATUE DEDICATION

- Brooklyn – State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn), The
Albanian Roots organization, and Monsignor David L. Cassato, Pastor of St.
Athanasius Roman Catholic Church, will lead a statue dedication ceremony in
recognition of Mother Teresa’s recent elevation to Sainthood. The
President of the Republic of Albania, Bujar Nishani, will be among the
distinguished guests joining the ceremony scheduled for this Sunday,
September 25, 2016, at 12:30 p.m., at the corner of 61st Street and Bay
Parkway.
The program will feature an array of musical and dance performances
honoring Mother Teresa, now Saint Teresa, and spiritual reflection and
prayer. The statue will be blessed by Monsignor Cassato, and immediately
following the ceremony, the Alba Life School and local dance academies,
will provide entertainment in celebration of this event.
