ELECTRONIC RECYCLING, SHREDDING AMONG SERVICES TO BE OFFERED
Brooklyn – State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn) is today announcing two events he will be hosting later this month to keep Brooklyn clean and help residents protect their identity, clean out their apartments, and properly recycle electronic waste.
Senator Golden is partnering with non-profit and governmental agencies to offer free shredding services, E-Waste recycling, and clothing/accessory collection. Area residents are invited to join Senator Golden at the event scheduled for either Sunday, October 16th from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m in Marine Park at the Avenue U Parking Lot, between East 33rd and Stuart Streets, and on Saturday, October 22nd, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the parking lot at Our Lady of Angels Church (enter on 73rd Street between 3rd and 4th Avenues).
Senator Marty Golden stated, “I am excited to host these events that will give residents an opportunity to get some of the unwanted items around their house properly disposed of. I trust that many in our community will take advantage of the chance to shred the old papers, donate clean used clothing, or get rid of the old televisions, computers and electronics we can no longer put out with our regular garbage collection. So mark your calendars and join us at these events so to recycle and keep Brooklyn clean,” continued Senator Golden.
The events are being supported by the AARP, the Lower East Side Ecology Center, the New York City Department of Sanitation Re-Fashion NYC in cooperation with Goodwill Industries of Greater New York and New Jersey. For more information on the events, please call Senator Golden’s office at (718) 238-6044.
