State Senator Michael H. Ranzenhofer has announced $10,000 in state funding for the Newstead Public Library. The funding will be used for children’s programming, updating technology and general improvements.
“I am pleased to report that I have been able to obtain state funding for our public library in Newstead. Whether it is educational programs or information, our public libraries provide important services to residents. This funding will help to enhance those services and ensure the Newstead Library continues to be an invaluable asset to our community,” said Ranzenhofer.
“I would like to thank Senator Ranzenhofer for his wonderful, never ending support of the Newstead Public Library. His generosity allows us to provide quality programming to the children of our community. It also enables us to keep our technology current to serve the needs of our library users. With this grant we are able to continue to provide quality library material and services to the residents of Akron and Newstead,” said Newstead Public Library Director Kristine Sutton.
The funding is part of the 2016-17 State Budget. The funding is administered by the New York State Education Department.
