Senator Michael Venditto (R-8th Senate District) recently partnered with the Bellmore- Merrick Central High School District, the Community Parent Center, the Nassau County Police Department and other elected officials to hold a Drug Take Back Day where residents could safely dispose of their expired, unwanted medications. The program was held at Merrick Avenue Middle School in Merrick.
Approximately 900 pounds of medications were collected for safe disposal by the Nassau County Police Department.
“Proper disposal of our old and unwanted medications keeps them out of our waterways, off the streets and most importantly out of the hands of our children. Thanks to all who participated for making this our most successful Drug Take Back Day to date, as well as to the Bellmore-Merrick CHSD, the Community Parent Center and the Nassau Police for partnering with me to provide this service,” said Senator Venditto.
