Senator Patrick M. Gallivan (R-C-I, Elma), Sunnking, and the Geneseo Central Earthwise Club announce a free electronics recycling event on Saturday, June 11.  Residents can drop-off and properly dispose of electronic devices free of charge between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. in the parking lot of Geneseo High School at 4050 Avon Road in Geneseo.

“Under state law, it is illegal to put televisions, computers and many other electronic devices that may contain dangerous material to the curb for regular trash pickup,” Gallivan said.  “This is a great opportunity for residents to dispose of old, unwanted electronic items safely in order to protect our environment.”

Sunnking will accept almost all devices that have a circuit board or a cord, including; computers and computer accessories, printers, ink and toner cartridges, monitors, televisions, microwave ovens, copiers, fax machines, telephones, radios, video and audio equipment and most small appliances.

Items that will not be collected include refrigerators, air conditioners, de-humidifiers, and CRT televisions and monitors with broken glass.  A complete list of acceptable and non-acceptable items is available at: http://www.sunnking.com

Sunnking has electronic recycling facilities in Buffalo and Rochester and specializes in dismantling, sorting, refurbishing and reselling electronics and equipment. The “e-waste” recycling process minimizes the amount of hazardous and harmful materials that would normally end up in landfills.
