As part of an ongoing effort to support music programs in local schools, State Senator Patty Ritchie has announced she has secured $20,000 to help the Ogdensburg Free Academy (OFA) Blue Devils Marching Band purchase new uniforms.

“The OFA Blue Devils Marching Band has always had a rich tradition of excellence, commitment and pride,” said Senator Ritchie. “These young performers know the importance of dedication and working together as a team. I am pleased to be able to provide the band with the necessary funding to help with the purchase of new uniforms so they can share their talents and look great while doing so.”

“We are most grateful to Senator Ritchie for this generous funding that helped us purchase new marching band uniforms and ensures that our talented young musicians continue to look sharp during their performances,” said Ogdensburg City School District Superintendent Timothy Vernsey.

Senator Ritchie’s efforts to secure funding to help the OFA Blue Devils Marching Band purchase new uniforms continues to build upon her recent support of art and music programs in local schools across Central and Northern New York. In September, she announced more than $36,000 in funding to help improve music and art programming in school districts throughout our region.
