State Senator Patty Ritchie has announced she has secured $50,000 to assist the Fulton Public Library with repairs and renovations to its building.

“Libraries are more than just places to find books—they’re important centers of learning and growth in our local communities,” said Senator Ritchie.

“This funding will help to ensure the Fulton Public Library can continue to provide its patrons with the books, entertainment and educational resources they depend on.”

“Each and every day, we work to make the Fulton Public Library the hub of our community,” said Library Director Betty Maute.

“Thanks to this support from Senator Ritchie, we will be able to make much-needed upgrades to our library.  We can’t thank her enough for being a partner in our effort to provide patrons with increased opportunities for learning.”

A member of the Senate Select Committee on Libraries, Senator Ritchie has made it a priority in recent years to support local libraries.  Most recently, she advocated for passage of a new state budget that included a $9 million boost in funding for libraries.

Final release of funds in subject to state approval.
