Ritchie: $25,000 Secured to Support Oswego County Fire Departments

In an effort to help make communities across Central New York safer, State Senator Patty Ritchie has announced she has secured $25,000 in special funding to help support local volunteer fire departments.
Funding secured by Senator Ritchie will allow 10 departments throughout Oswego County purchase equipment that will help them to do their jobs more safely, as well as more efficiently.
“Each and every day, volunteer firefighters put their lives at risk to protect our communities and keep them safe,” said Senator Ritchie.
“This funding will help them purchase the vitally important equipment they need to respond to not just fires, but all sorts of other emergencies throughout our region. I am proud to be able to support these heroes, and thank them for the critical work they do to safeguard the people of Central New York.”
“Having up-to-date, quality safety and rescue equipment is essential to the work we do as volunteer firefighters,” said Terry Clark Jr.of the West Amboy Volunteer Fire Company.
“We would like to thank Senator Ritchie for securing this funding, which will help make it easier for us to respond to any calls for help from people throughout our communities.”
The following volunteer fire departments will receive $2,500 each in special funding secured by Senator Ritchie:
Oswego Town Volunteer Fire Department
Hannibal Fire Company
Cleveland Fire Department
Palermo Volunteer Fire Department
West Amboy Volunteer Fire Company
West Monroe Volunteer Fire Department
Redfield Volunteer Fire Department
Orwell Fire Department
Pennellville Fire Department
Williamstown Fire Department
