Ritchie: Nearly $7 Million Awarded to Make Possible Key Water Infrastructure Projects in Oswego County
August 15, 2016
State Senator Patty Ritchie is announcing that communities throughout Oswego County are being awarded nearly $7 million in funding to move forward key projects that will help to improve water quality.
The funding is the result of actions in the budget Senator Ritchie advocated for that boosted support for grants aimed at bringing clean water to communities across New York State.
“Solid water infrastructure systems are key to ensuring a good quality of life for residents, as well as to encouraging new businesses to locate in our region and create jobs,” said Senator Ritchie.
“I am pleased to see Oswego County be awarded this funding, which will help municipalities make much-needed upgrades to water infrastructure without placing any additional burdens on taxpayers.”
Municipalities in Oswego County receiving funding include:
NYS Water Grant | Applicant Name | County | Estimated Grant Award |
Drinking Water | Town of Constantia | Oswego | $2,833,800 |
Clean Water | City of Oswego | Oswego | $1,375,000 |
Clean Water | City of Oswego | Oswego | $2,227,750 |
Drinking Water | Village of Phoenix | Oswego | $318,657 |
Last week, Senator Ritchie announced $12 million in funding for water infrastructure projects in municipalities she represents in St. Lawrence and Jefferson Counties.
