FUNKE TO PRESS FOR PAROLE ANSWERS TODAY AT PUBLIC PROTECTION LEGISLATIVE HEARING
February 4, 2016
Senator Rich Funke will appear at the 2016 Joint Legislative Hearing on Public Protection TODAY, February 4, 2016 starting at 9:30 a.m. in Hearing Room B, Floor 2, of the Legislative Office Building in Albany. Funke will question State officials and key public safety stakeholders about the recent rash of crimes committed by paroled offenders in the Rochester region, including murders, rapes, and other violent offenses. A live-stream of the proceedings will be available at nysenate.gov/events.
“Too many criminals have slipped through the cracks of the State’s broken parole system, doing irreparable harm to our families,” said Funke. “Together with local partners, including police chiefs and parole officers from across our region, we’ve stood up to say enough is enough. Now it’s time to get answers and ensure our police and parole officers have the tools they need to keep these violent offenders under the watchful eye of law enforcement, where they belong.”
