Statement From New York State Senator Rich Funke
March 14, 2016
"Today I voted for a balanced Senate budget that delivers billions in across-the-board tax cuts, calls for an employee-funded paid leave program that protects small businesses, and fully-funds local schools to help get every student job-ready by graduation. Our sweeping tax cuts alone would save the average middle-class family here over $800 a year and additional targeted relief for small businesses, college students, and energy consumers will make our region a more affordable place to live and work. Importantly, the Senate Budget invests in many of our community's top priorities while making hard choices to comply with a self-imposed 2% spending cap. I'm grateful this budget provides a fiscally-responsible starting point for the discussions to come and I look forward to working to produce a final budget that continues to deliver for Monroe and Ontario counties this year."
