ALBANY – New York State Senator Rob Ortt (R,C,I – North Tonawanda) today released his priority list leading up to the end of legislative session. Ortt said he will focus on ethics reform, Second Amendment rights, homeland security, college affordability, and job creation to cap off the 2016 legislative year.
Senator Ortt said, “We’re demanding action across the board – on protecting our constitutional rights, putting an end to corruption in Albany, securing our military sites, making college affordable for working families, and helping small businesses create jobs in our communities.”
Ortt noted the strong grassroots, outsider campaigns for President from both major political parties and argued that New York State is no different in the attitudes of its citizens and the dysfunction of government.
“In the last year and a half, I’ve attended thousands of events and meetings and travelled tens of thousands of miles around my district and across this great state. New Yorkers see a system that isn’t working and they’re sick of business as usual in government. These are the areas where they want progress,” said Ortt.
Ortt will host a series of events across Monroe, Orleans, and Niagara counties spotlighting these specific areas. In the coming weeks, Ortt plans to highlight the specific legislative action he has supported or will introduce to address these issues.
