February 22, 2016
PEEKSKILL, NY - Peekskill pride was in evidence when Senator Terrence Murphy toured the Peekskill City School District. Senator Murphy met with Dr, David Fine, Superintendent of Schools, and toured Woodside Elementary, Peekskill High School and the Summit Academy at Uriah Hill.
Students shared their classroom experiences with the Senator, who was impressed with their devotion to self-improvement. Characterized by a spirit of excellence and dedicated to cultural diversity, Peekskill City School District prepares its students to pursue their career goals and to contribute to the community.
"The Peekskill City School District more than lives up to its motto of 'A system focused on every student every day,'" said Senator Murphy. "The administration, faculty and staff help students understand the importance of taking ownership over their education by helping them improve on their performance and set goals for themselves. I am proud to be a strong advocate and ally in an effort to make their dreams a reality."
