Senator Murphy's Thank A Veteran Tour Kicks Off With Pancake Breakfast In Mount Pleasant
September 23, 2016
MT. PLEASANT, NY - Plates will be stacked high with flapjacks when Senator Terrence Murphy hosts a free pancake breakfast on Saturday, October 22nd at 9:00 a.m. at the Mt. Pleasant Community Center, 125 Lozza Drive in Valhalla. It's a delicious opportunity for veterans and their guests to get together and reconnect. Veterans will get a full breakfast with pancakes, bacon, fruit, orange juice and coffee.
"Without the sacrifices of our courageous men and women in the armed forces, our freedom and our way of life would be completely different," Senator Murphy said. "We owe them a debt we will never be able to fully repay. The least we can do is recognize their dedication and bravery on behalf of their country."
"This breakfast is something I always look forward to. It is an honor to share time with those who served our country," said Mount Pleasant Town Supervisor Carl Fulgenzi. "Although the food is always great, it is more about the opportunity to personally show our servicemen and women how much we appreciate the freedoms they secured for all of us. Sacrifice on the battlefields and at home is something most of us could never understand. We are proud to host this event to say thank you for your service."
Veterans who are interested in attending can RSVP by calling Senator Murphy's office at 914-962-2624 or visiting his website. Attendees can bring one guest.
The free pancake breakfast is part of Senator Murphy's Thank a Veteran Tour. The tour continues Sunday, October 30th, when Senator Murphy, Senator Sue Serino and Putnam County Executive MaryEllen Odell team up to sponsor the 2016 Veterans Chow Down at the Putnam Golf Course. Two seating times are available, 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. To RSVP, register at www.murphy.nysenate.gov or call the Senator's office.
