The meetings begin today, Thursday, January 7th, when O’Mara, Palmesano and Friend will hold the following community meetings in Chemung County:
> Erin Town Hall (1138 Breesport Road, Erin) from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m..; and
> Ashland Town Hall (3663 Sixth Street, Wellsburg) from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This meeting will be hosted by O’Mara and Friend only.
In a joint statement, the lawmakers said, “We hope our constituents will take advantage of these community meetings to learn more about and contribute to this year’s challenges and debates over taxes, regulations, mandates, economic development, health care, education, and other key issues. Community meetings offer the kind of direct give and take that’s fundamental to effective government.”
They said that the meetings, which began this fall throughout the region, are informal and open to the public to give local residents an opportunity to directly share their concerns, opinions and suggestions for better government.
On Wednesday, January 27th, O’Mara and Palmesano will hold the following meetings in Steuben County:
> Urbana Town Hall (8014 Pleasant Valley Road, Hammondsport) from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.; and
> Corning City Hall (1 Nasser Civic Center Plaza) from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The legislators stressed that any local residents unable to attend a meeting can contact them directly to share specific concerns and suggestions.
