Senator Avella Asking for Public’s Help in Search for Missing Teen

Queens, NY - New York State Senator Tony Avella is seeking the public’s help in the search for Ivy Koulis, a 17 year old who went missing on the afternoon of Sunday, August 21, 2016. The search for Ivy is especially pressing due to the fact that Ivy is diabetic and has been without important medication since Sunday. Ivy was last seen at Mike’s Diner on Utica Avenue in Brooklyn before she went missing. Ivy’s family lives in College Point, Queens.

Ivy Diamond, as she’s known to friends and family, is Hispanic and Black, stands 5’1” tall and has purple hair, as seen in the picture below. A poster provided by Ivy’s mother, Penelope, states that she has scarring on her left arm which may help the public identify her.

Anyone with information regarding Ivy is asked to contact Detective George Rath at 718-776-9252. “I ask that everyone pay close attention to the photos of Ivy Diamond and contact the proper authorities with any relevant information, no matter how small. The more details investigators are provided, the more effective their search will be. It must be incredibly tough for a parent to not know whether or not their child is safe. But I hope Ivy’s family knows the community is praying for her safe return,” commented State Senator Tony Avella.
