Larkin Secures Funding for City of Newburgh Fire Department

Senator Bill Larkin (R-C-I, 39th District) recently announced that he has secured $60,000 for the City of Newburgh Fire Department to purchase a new heavy duty truck to not only tow the local fleet but also state and county trailers. This includes the Orange County Technical Rescue Trailer which responds to high angle rope rescue and confined space rescue calls not only in the City of Newburgh but all of Orange County as well as Putnam and Sullivan counties.

“The City of Newburgh and the Newburgh Fire Department were in desperate need of a heavy duty truck in order to tow the numerous trailers within their fleet that serve not only our district but the entire state,” said Senator Larkin.  “The grant funding that I recently secured will fund the purchase of a new heavy duty truck and will be a tremendous asset to the City and Fire Department.”

“Thank you to Senator Larkin for his tireless efforts on behalf of our city,” said Judy Kennedy, City of Newburgh Mayor. “Over the years, the grant funding that the Senator has secured for our City has been a game changer in regards to enhancing the services that we are able to provide to our residents.”

“This vehicle is needed to ensure the safe response by our members to the various calls using different trailers to help the residents of the City of Newburgh and residents of Orange County and New York State,” said Paul Pullar, City of Newburgh Fire Department Captain. “Senator Larkin has always been a friend to our local fire departments and we could not be happier with the latest grant funding.”
